Folklorist Peggy Yocom has spent the last 4 decades collecting folklife customs and traditions in Maine and Northern Virginia. Join Peggy and Timespan's Archive Development Officer, Jo Clements, for a conversation about collecting folklore, recording family stories, and archiving.

The conversation will be followed by oral history training led by Jacquie Aitken, Timespan's Heritage Officer. Learn how to use oral history recording equipment and conduct interviews.

Cromarty East Church church and graveyard tour [Cromarty] ...

 Come and join us at for a tour of the Cromarty East church and graveyard on Wednesday 26th July at 18.00. The tour will be led by historian, David Alston, who will be sharing some knowledge about the church and the people associated with it - including characterful laird and translator of Rabelais, Sir Thomas Urquhart; Hugh Miller, geologist, writer and journalist and one of the founders of the free church of Scotland; and James Thomson, forgotten Victorian hero.
